It’s not going to be long before we get our official hands on the final retail version of Windows 10 and, by extension, it’s not going to be long before we have a whole new set of devices that will come with the new Microsoft operating system pre-installed. And just as the hardware has been optimized for Windows 8, the same is happening with Windows 10. Case in point is a whole new generation of Toshiba laptops that take Cortana integration to the next level.
We already know that the Cortana digital assistant is going to play a pretty big role in the Windows 10 environment. To take advantage of this and to provide users with easier access, the new lineup of Toshiba laptops will come with a dedicated function key specifically for launching Cortana. It’s basically just the search key and it’ll be a part of the function row in the new C Series, L Series, S Series, Fusion and Radius Toshiba laptops.
All it really does is save you one button. You know how you can return to the desktop by doing Windows + D? You can access Cortana by pressing Windows + C or, in the case of these new Toshiba Satellites, just hit the Cortana button. Interestingly, all of these new laptops won’t come with Windows 10 out of the box. They’ll come with Windows 8.1, but you can just take advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10 at your leisure.
The new laptops launch on June 21 with prices starting at under $400.
