Those of you who are interested in the trash can-styled Mac Pro will have to wait a couple more months. Even though we had originally expected the new high-end computer to ship some time this month, the date has now been pushed to some time in April. Apple started taking orders for the Mac Pro back in December, but it looks like they might be having a hard time keeping up with demand.
It goes without saying that the relatively small size and unique form factor are both big selling points for the Mac Pro, which starts at just under $3,000, but you can nalso spec it up to be quite the super-powered beast of a computer for a lot more money. It’s also made in the USA at Apple’s facility in Texas. The delayed ship date affects not only the US market, but also other countries like Canada, France, Japan, the UK, China and Germany.
If you can’t wait that long and would rather get a Mac Pro-like experience on a Windows PC, then you might want to consider the PC DIY Mac Pro both at the high end and for a more entry-level version. Of course, when and if you ever do get your hands on the shiny black cylinder, there are only certain parts you can upgrade, so choose carefully!
