Game On with Dell XPS Tower, XPS Tower VR and Special Edition

Dude, get a Dell. The company has certainly come a long way since those iconic commercials with the blonde-haired dude giving us the thumbs up. The XPS line of laptops are among the best in the business. Want something even more powerful and a little more stationary? Then it’s time to look at the the new Dell XPS Tower, XPS Tower VR and the XPS Tower Special Edition. Yes, they’ve got a rig ready to handle all your virtual reality needs.

The regular tower comes in a range of configurations, as is the norm with Dell, so it’s really up to you how much power you want and how much money you want to spend. In the case of the XPS Tower VR and the the Special Edition, both towers are configured to deliver “blazing speed and performance.” They ship ready out of the box to handle either the Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive. Or, if you’re rocking the baller status, maybe you want to do both.

All SKUs in the Dell XPS Tower range now come in a 27 percent smaller form factor to fit snugly under (or on top of) your desk. They come powered by the “latest Intel processors and NVIDIA graphics.” Despite all this power, you don’t have to play like you’re in the middle of a wind turbine. Dell says they’ve utilized “thermally controlled fans that spin only as fast as critically needed.” The top notch Special Edition gets an aluminum design with diamond-cut edges, Pascal graphics, K-series Intel chips and overclocking capabilities.

The Dell XPS Tower and XPS Tower VR are available now with prices starting at $699 and $1,199, respectively. If you want the Special Edition, you’ll have to wait until October 15 when it goes on sale starting at $1,299.
