ASUS Republic of Gamers Launches Three Z87 Gaming Motherboards

— MAXIMUS VI EXTREME for overclockers and enthusiasts, MAXIMUS VI GENE forhigh-end mATX gaming, and the new MAXIMUS VI HERO at an attractive price point —

1 June, 2013 – ASUS Republic of Gamers, or ROG, today announced a three-motherboard lineup devoted to users who demand the highest-grade gaming and overclocking motherboards in the industry. Featuring the Intel® Z87 chipset for 4th generation Core™ processors, the trio of ROG motherboards covers a wide audience of gamers and PC performance seekers.

Industry-leading design and exclusive features

All three motherboards provide customers with the advantages of ASUS and ROG research and design expertise. They build upon the finest board layout and circuitry, and ship with an upgraded ROG UEFI BIOS, which supports user-friendly yet deep modification of PC settings. As always, ROG goes beyond market conventions to give customers more. SSD Secure Erase is incorporated into ROG UEFI BIOS, ensuring hassle-free data removal and SSD performance restoration from within the BIOS without the need for third party software and therefore fewer compatibility issues.

The ROG line uses the most premium components to guarantee enhanced stability and long-lasting performance, as shown by the all-digital Extreme Engine Digi+ III, which provides an ultra-precise and stable power delivery architecture for the CPU and memory and comes reinforced with 60A-rated BlackWing chokes, 10K Black Metallic capacitors, and 90% efficient NexFET MOSFETs. These easily handle the most demanding gaming and extreme overclocking sessions.

Shared features include 2nd generation T-Topology DRAM to enable higher memory frequencies even under full load, and one-click 4-Way Optimization, an exclusive technology also found on ASUS-branded Z87 motherboards. The three motherboards also feature RAMDisk technology, which turns up to 80% of available system RAM into super-fast storage that operates at over 10,000MB/s, more than 20 times faster than a SATA SSD.

MAXIMUS VI EXTREME with OC Panel: Best for overclockers and competitive system tuners

ROG created the MAXIMUS VI EXTREME to improve on the well-established leadership of its predecessors. It has already proven capable of supporting CPU speeds beyond 7GHz and memory frequencies close to 4GHz. The board offers extensive connectivity and its smart PCI Express x16 slot layout means effortless 4-way NVIDIA® SLI™ or AMD CrossFireX™.

It ships bundled with the innovative OC Panel real-time monitoring and overclocking console, usable inside the case (fitting 5.25” bays) or externally. As an internal component, OC Panel works in Normal Mode, its 2.6” display showing CPU, temperature, base clock, and fan speed info. One-click CPU Level Up and FanSpeed control can be applied instantly.

Externally, OC Panel offers even deeper overclocking and overvolting options, acting as a standalone system tuning device. It integrates ROG exclusives Subzero Sense and VGA Hotwire to help monitor subzero liquid cooling setups and quickly change graphics card voltages on a hardware level. It also activates pro-grade features such as Slow Mode and Pause Switch as demanded by the global enthusiast community. All settings are adjustable in real-time and quickly applied through easy-reach control buttons.

The mPCIe Combo II expansion card instantly adds extra connections without taking up a PCI Express slot. It features an 802.11ac Wi-Fi (three times faster than 802.11n) and Bluetooth 4.0 module built-in. An M.2 Next Generation Form Factor (NGFF) connector supports the fastest ultra-thin solid state drives. ROG is cooperating with storage vendors such as ADATA™ and SanDisk® in preparing for the arrival of M.2 SSDs to world markets soon.

MAXIMUS VI GENE: The finest micro-ATX gaming and overclocking choice

While featuring the micro-ATX format, MAXIMUS VI GENE incorporates many ROG exclusives. It also ships with mPCIe Combo II for extra connectivity (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module not included). For more informed and accurate gameplay, Sonic Radar delivers an on-screen overlay that visualizes in-game sound to highlight the location and direction of opponents and teammates, as well as effects such as gunfire and explosions which is ideal for first and third person shooters.

SupremeFX implements the first audio multi-shielding technology to provide interference-resistant sound. Premium ELNA capacitors and advanced differential signal processing plus an integrated Op-Amp (operational amplifier) deliver 115dB SNR clarity and increase sound range and power, accentuate game audio, and adds depth to movies and music.

Intel® Ethernet and ROG GameFirst II bandwidth management optimize networking for lower latency and CPU utilization, serving up a great enhancement for better multiplayer gaming.

MAXIMUS VI HERO: ROG technology for the masses

The ATX-format MAXIMUS VI HERO represents the result of careful design and balancing that allow it to offer the gaming performance and style of companion ROG boards at an attractive price point.

Feature highlights include SupremeFX audio, Sonic Radar, Intel® Ethernet, and GameFirst II plus the trademark ROG red and black “eagle eye” color scheme and logo design. MAXIMUS VI HERO signals a major push by ROG into new markets, affirming the ASUS commitment to incredible PC gaming performance with the quality and stability of ROG.
