Acer Aspire Z3-700: The Desktop PC with 5 Hour Battery Life

The computer industry has worked tirelessly for years trying to bridge the gap between our desktop lives and our mobile lives. You might be familiar with the docking station from MSI that provides your laptop with a real desktop GPU, for example. Or you might know how Continuum in Windows 10 can provide a desktop experience powered by your smartphone. The Acer Aspire Z3-700 builds upon that, because it’s an all-in-one desktop PC that you can literally pack up and take with you.

This isn’t to say that you’ll need to pack it up and then find a power outlet either, nor will you necessarily have to squint your way down to a tablet or laptop-sized screen. The Acer Aspire Z3-700 features a reasonably sizable 17.3-inch touchscreen to go along with five hours of battery life on the go. Sure, that’s about the same size as some of the larger laptops on the market, but it’s really meant to be seen more as a portable desktop.

You could bumble your way around using the touchscreen interface or, more likely, you’ll pair up the Aspire Z3-700 with your choice of keyboard and mouse for the true desktop experience while sipping on your pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks. Under the hood is an Intel chip of either the Celeron or Skylake variety, up to 8GB of RAM, and a range of storage options including both HDDs and SSDs.

Pricing for the Aspire A3-700 will start in the $700 range and it should be available for sale in time for the holiday shopping season.
