CES 2014 this year has been quite eventful for Mushkin. They brought dozens of new products to show off, and even started breaking world records for performance. But in the end, they still managed to remember the little things that makes DIY so much fun. They’ve even shown off a product built to streamline SSD and HDD swapping called the Helix Drive Toolkit. And that brings us to an all new line of memory heatsinks for their RAM offerings.

Mushkin is a memory company first so lets start there with the new Frostbyte II heatsinks (pictured above). Cut from aircraft-grade aluminum, the FrostByte II utilizes vortex thermal design to dissipate and control accumulated heat while maximizing PC performance. These will begin rolling out with the Redline and Blackline RAM series in February 2014. Why just be functional or stylish when you can be both?

To help enthusiasts or everyday PC users switch from one drive to another, we now have the aforementioned Helix Drive Toolkit. The kit comes with a drive to USB adapter, disk backup, disk recovery, and disk cloning software tools. Now you can swap a drive, replace one going bad, switch to an SSD, or just make a backup without having to waste money on an external drive enclosure. It even has benchmarking tools help you verify performance of your new drive.

We say it all the time here at Futurelooks; the small details are the ones that matter. As PC DIY enthusiast, we can appreciate Mushkin making drive swapping less of a chore, and who doesn’t love awesome looking heatsinks that you can use in your next build. The full press release for both of these new CES 2014 products are posted below.
