It’s becoming harder and harder for companies to really differentiate themselves in this relatively young tablet market. After all, they’re all just mostly touchscreens and that’s about it. LG, however, is daring to be different with its tablet.
It’s called the LG Optimus Pad and it comes with a dual cameras in the back. The kicker is that these dual cameras are there for you to shoot video in 3D mode, which can then be played back on the screen also in 3D mode. I had the chance to unbox this device recently and that’s the video that you see above.
It is a 3G-capable tablet powered by Android Honeycomb 3.0. It’s sold through a variety of carriers, like Rogers in Canada, as well as through T-Mobile USA as the G-Slate. Retail is about $699 without contract, but you can get that subsidized if you do sign a contract.
